Learn Equality Live Equal - online programme

We are delighted to announce that schools in the North West, East Midlands, South East and the East (you should check your eligibility here) are able to become a Learn Equality Live Equal (LELE) School online. LELE aims to support schools to make whole-school change to reduce homophobic, biphobic and transphobic (HBT) bullying. Sign up by 10 March 2020

LELE Online programme - What’s included?

  1. 1 hour webinar -  we will look at the overall Learn Equality, Live Equal programme and its aims & objectives. We will then focus on how schools can develop effective consultation strategies to involve pupils, parents and staff in your anti-HBT bullying strategy.
  2. Online CPD modules and interactive video tutorials: 
    1. Gender Matters online module – aimed at supporting schools to address sexual bullying and promote trans inclusion
    2. LGBT inclusive RSE – aimed at supporting Relationships Sex and Health Education that is inclusive of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender(LGBT) identities
    3. Video tutorials – each tutorial focuses on a different aspect of HBT bullying from gender bias in sport to HBT bullying for SEND children
  3. Support from an expert advisor with extensive experience in implementing anti-bullying strategies in schools
  4. School Audit and Action plan - designed to support your school to consider and reflect upon different aspects of your anti- HBT bullying work and help you identify areas for improvement.

In a short month long online programme we will help you get your anti-HBT bullying strategy off the ground in school and you will be come a Learn Equality, Live Equal School. 

To take part in the programme your school must:

  • Assign a programme lead (must be SLT, PSHE lead, DSL, Pastoral/Wellbeing lead)
  • Have not participated in any Government-funded anti-HBT bullying programmes in the past 3 years
  • Interested in developing and updating strategies and policies in place for tackling HBT bullying
  • Have an interest in creating an LGBT-inclusive school

How to sign up 

You will be sent instructions on how to complete each step as you progress through the programme. To take part you must be a school in one of 54 local authorities. You can read a list here.

  • Step 2 - Complete your LELE School Audit and Action plan
  • Step 3 - Access the amazing the Gender Matters and LGBT inclusive RSE online CPD modules
  • Step 4 - Review and update your School Audit and Action plan – this is an opportunity to use everything you learned, reflect and review your LELE audit

This is a unique and last opportunity for your school to take part in this programme which ends in March so do make sure you sign up *by 10 March 2020
