Audit Tool user guide

Here you will find information on the Audit Tool which will help you throughout this programme.

The audit tool is divided into six sections that comprise an effective whole school approach to effective bullying prevention and response. It allows you to clearly see where your school is effective, and what areas you might want to work on over the course of the programme.

Getting started

Baseline audit

Final audit

Before you begin

First and foremost, note the 'Save and come back' button at the bottom of each section. This is important to save your work as you go through in case you aren't filling in the whole audit in one go. The system will automatically log you out if it is left idle for XXX time, so you need to ensure you don't lose any effort.

How to fill in the baseline audit

1. Rate yourself! Click on each of the six sections and decide whether your school is fully, partially or not meeting the indicators described. If you are unsure of how to rate your school, click in the 'More Info' column for a description of each rating.

2. Explain your rating. Fill in the 'How do you know?' column with information on why you have given yourself this rating. This is particularly important if you are marking the indicator as fully met, or not adding it to your action plan. We will use this information to help us decide whether you will become an All Together School.

3. Decide what you want to action. This is the key programme activity. Click 'yes' in the Action Plan for the indicators you want to work on over the course of the programme. These will automatically transfer into the Action Planning section.

To inform what you choose to add to your action plan, look at your Dashboard after you've rated your school.  You will be able to clearly see where your school is effective and what you might want to work on. You can then develop an action plan for whole-school change with supportive resources to help. You should also use the information from your pupil questionnaire to help you.

4. Check you're finished. When you are happy that you have given all the info needed. Click on 'Mark as complete' on the top right corner of the audit. Once you've done this you won't be able to make further changes.

Final Audit

After you have worked through your action plan and feel you have started to see the effects of your work in the school and on your pupils, it's time to assess your practice once again. Follow the same steps as with the baseline audit, but with some key differences.

Evidence
  • It's more important than ever that you share with us how you have arrived at the ratings you've given. It's important that All Together is not a box-ticking exercise, so we are looking for details on how you have met the indicators. Give examples where you can; for example, tell us about a parents evening you ran, or how a restorative approach to an incident helped shape how you develop your response strategies. Give as much detail as possible, as long as it's all anonymised.
  • Where you haven't made any changes since your baseline audit, you can use the 'Copy from baseline' function to save you writing the text again.

  • Use the 'Supporting evidence' link to add examples of your work. This can be photos, videos, case studies, lesson plans, meeting agenda, newsletters, policies, etc.

Once you have marked as complete your final audit, you'll be able to see the progress you have made via your Dashboard. Remember that you can download this as a PDF to share with parents, Governors, Ofsted, etc.
